Things are off to a good start this year, and we made some great contacts at both National Title 1 and CAAASA conferences. Now we are focusing on school orders and moving forward.  Recently we updated Ashay’s African American Reading List for Baby-3 and Grades K-6 and our Spanish Bi-Lingual Reading Lists. Most books on the list are AR (Accelerated Reading) approved for Core Curriculum.   Also we just added Ashay’s African American Reading List Grades 7-12.  I made my selection based on Core Curriculum, recommendations and personal favorites.  They include the best authors and illustrators in African American literature...

Ashay Introduces African American Children's Book Collections for Schools at National Title 1 Conference

This week we introduced Ashay's African American Children's Book Collections at the National Title 1 Conference "Engagement Revolution" Feb. 22-25 in Long Beach, California and got some excellent reviews. The eight collections were created from the Ashay's Reading list for age groups, Baby-3 and K-6. But at the conference, we displayed the books in their collections and the attendees loved seeing the various titles, themes and art.  Most of the selected titles are AR Approved and meet Core Curriculum Standards. Celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH and Focus On Educating Our Youth

The Choice is Ours! For me, every month is Black History Month because I sell books that relate to our culture and history.  I can't imagine doing anything else.  When we look back in history at some of our great leaders like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman and Malcolm X, Fannie Lou Hamer and others, we see how brilliant and resilient they were.   So whatever, we are dealing with now including the "The Crisis In Black Education",  will be dealt with an unwavering commitment to achieve our goals.  Let's not let ignorance and racism shut us down we must continue moving...

Happy New Year and You Can Win!

  I hope everyone had a great holiday. I took a little vacation time and visited my family in Chicago and in Angola my hometowns.
