Hosting an Ashay By The Bay Online Book Fair couldn’t be easier—it’s a simple, convenient way to raise funds while you sit back and relax. At the same time, it’s a meaningful opportunity to introduce young readers to more diverse culturally relevant literature. This platform is ideal for distance learners and supporters, and any educator, school, youth program, or organization can run a successful event by engaging their social media community. Best of all, children will be excited to receive a brand-new book to enjoy.

How It Works

Our book fairs are simple and effective, offering a percentage of every online sale. All you need to do is share your event with your social community network and organize your team and the PTA. Be creative and have fun with it. Be prepared to promote, promote, promote. Registration is just $35, which includes setting up your customized online listing.

In addition, we will prompt our regular customers, shopping on our site to support your book fair with their sales dollars too. They will be able to click on a link that will take them to the Support A Book Fair page to choose a book fair to support. They have a choice and can Support A Book Fair, or they may want to use one of our regular coupon.

To get started, plan your event 3-4 weeks in advance, and choose a duration of 15, 30, or 45 days. Family, friends, and supporters can purchase books for themselves or donate them directly to your school. Each event comes with a unique Book Fair Tracking Coupon to monitor sales and manage your fair with ease.

Supporters will also enjoy discounted book prices, gift card options, and free shipping. Please note that only one coupon code may be used per order—so while they can support your book fair, they won’t be able to combine it with other online coupons.

How We Track Our Sales

Your Book Fair Tracking Coupon will be displayed with your fundraiser description under the Support A Book Fair link on the front page. This page is easy to find and lists all active book fairs. When supporters shop, they simply enter your unique Book Fair Tracking Coupon in the coupon field at checkout, and their purchases will automatically be credited to your Book Fair Account. Plus, any order over $75 or more qualifies for FREE shipping. Yippy!

Online Book Fair Sales Management

Midway through your event, we will review your Total Net Sales and provide the Event Coordinator with an online generated report, which will include sales totals, order counts, and other key details. On the final day of the event, we will verify all orders and recalculate the Total Net Sales. Once the paperwork is finalized, you will receive a completed report that includes both Total Net Sales and commissions. Your commission check will then be mailed within 5 business days.

Please note that, due to our busy schedules, limited staff, and sales volume, we are unable to provide daily updates on online sales activity or manage wish lists. However, we are available to provide support as needed.

$1–$3,999 → 10% Commission
$4000+ →15% Commission (applies to all sales above $4,000)

Details:

• Based on Net Sales (excludes tax & shipping).
• At 15% level: 90% cash + 10% in books (from our online store, retail value).
• Sales over $9,999 remain at 15%.
School purchase orders (online/offline) do not qualify. Purchases must use your Book Fair Tracking Coupon

Example:
$10,000 in sales → $1,500 commission → $1,350 cash + $150 in books
