Through smart marketing and product selection, the Ashay by the Bay Team has grown and our company now has the largest independent selection of African American Children’s books online. You can purchase Ashay's Books online and at book fairs, festivals, conferences and other events. We inventory a wide selection of books and educational materials for our customers. And because we search for the best deals, our books are also affordable and some are discounted 20% or more. Currently we have over 550 books for children online and approximately 2500 books in our data base.
Our customer focus is on the children first, because we believe we must empower them with quality literature so they can excel in all areas of academic achievement. Parents, as you build your home libraries, we encourage you to seek the advice of your children and allow them to participate in selecting some of their own reading material. Our wish list and gift card features are the perfect way for them to choose the books they would like to read. Educators, if you need help with your book selection for the classroom, please download Ashay’s African American Reading List Baby-3 and K-6 and our Ashay's Latin American and BiLingual Reading List and take a look at our collections. There are over 450 books listed and of course we are always available to assist with your purchase orders.
We know literacy is still a serious problem in America and throughout the world and good language skills is the cornerstone of a quality education. We also understand the great social and economic impact that occurs, when kids see positive images of themselves. And the pride and confidence that emerges as they learn about their culture and history. For that reason, we are committed to providing the best selection of literature, educational materials and programs for our children and we appreciate your support in making this possible.
We select our books based on customer requests, marketability, availability and price. To bring you the best selection of quality books and educational products at the best price, we shop around among publishers, distributers, wholesalers and other suppliers for deals that we can pass the savings onto our customers. In essence, we purchase books both direct and indirect and we also resell the best overstocks and returns then discount our prices accordingly. Overstocks, are the additional copies that are printed when a publisher prints a book. These extra copies or excess inventory is liquidated at discounted prices. Returns are new books purchased by a retailer that did not sell and generally have a small mark or line at the top or bottom of the book.
