LOVE 4 LITERACY ONLINE BOOK FAIR

FACT: African American students are the lowest performing academic subgroup across the nation in reading comprehension, math and science. Research indicates trauma, caregiver literacy levels, socioeconomic status, non access to high quality reading materials and non existent cultural and ancestral connections are many of the root level causes.

The Bay Area Tutoring Association and the LOVE 4 LITERACY Initiative is committed to changing this trend with our                                1st Annual LOVE 4 LITERACY Online Book Drive. (November 15 - December 31, 2017)

In partnership with Ashay by the Bay (The #1 Black Children's Bookstore), African American Community Service Agency, California Alliance of African American Educators, Greene Scholars Program, Jack & Jill of Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce, Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet, Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators and the support of our friends and family we can reach our goal of providing 1000 or more culturally relevant books and a tutor reading champion to S.F. Bay Area African American elementary school children.

And thank you for giving the gift of instilling a sense of heritage, pride and belonging by connecting with our youth through books.
