School Gift Card Fundraiser and or Purchase Program
The COVID-19 Pandemic has made Distance Learning a reality and many homes and schools are not prepared. Not only, do some families not have a computer but they may not have adequate books for their children to read. Many of these families are African American and or children of color and there is a great need for books and home libraries. If we want children to be lifelong readers, then we have to find new ways to engage them in reading. Here are two programs.
Books for Kids and Families In Need (Fund Raiser)
As a bookseller that specializes in African American and Multi-Cultural Children's Books and School Collections, we have a solution. Already we are doing, an online fundraiser for Books for Kids In Need and Families here in the Bay Area Here is the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/books-for-kids-and-families-in-need. With this fund raiser, we raise funds to purchase Ashay By The Bay Gift Cards which are then given to identified Educators to be given to identified low income students/families to purchase classroom library books or books needed to support curriculum. This fund raiser will end Dec. 31st. 2020.
But we can also take School Purchase Orders to purchase Ashay ByThe Bay Gift Cards in much the same way. And or it can be your own Gift Card Fundraiser and we can manage the distribution and delivery of the Gift Cards along with the fulfillment of the books.
School Gift Card Purchase Program Details
Delivery To School / Educators: Each Educator can set up an online account which will help them manage their own individual program. They can also access Gift Card purchases and usage. (When they place their order they will only need the first and last name of the student recipient and their email address. The Gift Cards can only be used to purchase products from Ashay By The Bay. (books, games and puzzles) It is up to the discretion of the School/Educator to determine who receives a Gift Card.
Delivery To Recipient / Student: Each Gift Card has a unique code and no expiration date. There are three ways to deliver the card: US Mail (Download and Print). Email and or What's App. Recipients, are encouraged to open an account and can purchase over the amount of the value of the card. At the checkout, they can add their unique Gift Card code and any applicable discounts and tax if any will be applied. If they don't use all the money on the card, a credit will remain on their account.
Shipping and Fulfillment: Ashay by the Bay will pay for shipping and handling charges and will ship all Gift Card purchases Media Mail in the US. (Generally 2-8 days).
Purchase Orders and Custom Order: If a School or Educator would like to purchase books on a purchase order or with a credit card, we also offer custom bulk orders, and can ship direct to the school and or group fulfillment. We can order the books you request for your curriculum and programs and distribute to the address or locations you provide.
