We are an Independent Minority Owned Company owned and operated by Deborah Day.. She opened the business in 2000 and went online in 2002, establishing Ashay by the Bay as a Book Reseller that Specializes in African American and Multi-Cultural Children’s Books, Baby-3 and K-12. We sell a Diverse Selection of Culturally Relevant books to both the Consumer and Business Markets throughout the US and we Build Custom Book Collections for School and Classroom Libraries. We also offer Gift Cards and are the publishers of the Mindful Messages Curriculum. Our home office is located in Vallejo, California.

Some of our books are discounted 20% or more. Currently we have over 1200 books online. Product Information and Pricing
We select our products based on requests, marketability, availability and price, and we shop among publishers, wholesalers and distributors for the best deal. We also resell a few overstocks, then discount our prices accordingly. Overstocks, are the additional copies that are printed when a publisher prints a book. Returns are new books purchased by a retailer that did not sell and generally have a small mark or line at the top or bottom of the book and are discounted. Our prices online are subject to change without notice. California residents will be charged an additional Sales Tax of 8.375%.
