"Boys In The Hood" Book Club is a new reading club for African American Boys Ages 8-12. It was started by Dana Maeshia and other parents and activists in the Sacramento, California. This Book Club was created so that these young boys will have more exposure to read and learn about their own culture and history and be proud of their heritage. Their success continues to grow as more enthusiastic young readers join the club. The club meets from 6-8PM and is located at 2251 Florin Road in Sacramento. I love the idea and hope they will make it a regular event. Their location is also the home of the African Marketplace It is open to the public every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. YOU CAN SUPPORT THEM BY PURCHASING THE BOOKS THEY WILL BE READING click here SUPPORT A BOOK FAIR.
