Ashay By The Bay Was Popping Up All Over The Bay Area in December

On Dec 10th at Saint Leo Elementary School in Oakland, they Celebrated their Annual Christmas School Fundraiser.As always, we were there, and it was a wonderful event.The kids and parents love looking through my book selection. This year’s musical presentation was great too, the kids stepped up their dance performance and sang Christmas songs with Santa

December 14th we vended at the Hayward Unified Annual Kwanzaa Celebration presented by AASAI (African American Student Achievement Initiative). The organization Director, Diana Levy and her students reminded us of the importance of Kwanzaa and lit the candles.We got a special treat as student author, Timothy Boykin read from his book, Step Out.He is a talented fourth grader at HUSD and has won several Children’s book awards. All the families enjoyed the event.

December 16th we were invited by the Vallejo Project and Director, Adjoa MacDonald to present our books at their Holiday Bazaar Gumbo Feed.It was a wonderful event supported by a lot of community leaders and partners.For the kids they had free gifts and books, face painting and a visit with Santa.They also had a lively band and the Gumbo was delicious.

December 19th, we were of two vendors, providing books at Presidio Nolls School in San Francisco for their book fundraiser.The event was led by Karen Hong and her team and it was a fun event. The school is an Mandarin immersion School and everyone enjoyed the diverse selection of Ashay By The Bay Books.

December 23rd, we were one of the community organizations that participated in the Shiloh Community Church and E-40 Toy and Coat Drive here in Vallejo. They had free food and gifts for the families and lots of bikes and toys for the kids. It was well attended, and everyone wanted to see the Hip Hop Legend E-40.We gave away a lot of books, made people smile and shared in the warm holiday giving.
